Paul Andre Huet

Paul was appointed Chair of New Found Gold in 2024. Presently he holds the role of Chief Executive Officer at Americas Gold and Silver. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Karora Resources Inc. from 2019 to 2024 until its acquisition by Westgold Resources Limited for $1.3-billion. Prior to this he was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Klondex Mines from 2012 to 2018, until its acquisition by Hecla Mining Company for $700-million. Mr. Huet has a strong command of capital markets and has served in all levels of engineering and operations within publicly traded mining companies. He graduated with Honors from the Mining Engineering Technology program at Haileybury School of Mines in Ontario and successfully completed the Stanford Executive program at the Stanford School of business. In 2013, Mr. Huet was nominated for the Premiers Award in Ontario for outstanding College graduates, and he is currently a member of OACETT as an applied Science Technologist and an Accredited Director.

William Hayden

William is a geologist with more than 38 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, much of it gained in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. He has served as a Director of Ivanhoe Mines since March 2007, where his involvement began in 1998, first serving as the company’s first President of the corporate predecessor, African Minerals, from May 1998 to November 2001 and subsequently as a Director from 1998 to 2002. He also held the role of President and Director of Ivanhoe Philippines from July 2005 to December 2011 when it was a subsidiary of the original Ivanhoe Mines (renamed Turquoise Hill Resources in 2012). Mr. Hayden has worked in a management capacity with several exploration and mining companies in Australia and internationally and he holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons), Geology from Sierra Nevada College in Nevada, USA.

Andrew Furey, MD, FRCSC, MSc., MSM.

Dr. Furey is the former Premier of NL and an accomplished executive, physician, humanitarian, and published author. In his time as Premier of NL, Dr. Furey was responsible for leading generational initiatives related to the Churchill Falls hydro-electrical development and negotiated a rate mitigation agreement with the federal government worth $5.2B and a new $227B memorandum of understanding with the province of Québec. He also led negotiations that secured the future of the oil and gas sector in NL and was responsible in creating strategic fiscal and policy decisions that resulted in a credit rating upgrade for the province. With deep expertise in policy, economic strategy and cross-border trade, he has worked closely with senior leaders such as Prime Minister Mark Carney, was Chair of Canadian Atlantic Premiers in 2020 and 2024, and represented Canada in several international trade missions. Dr. Furey is the founder of Team Broken Earth, a volunteer driven registered medical charity where he managed a multidisciplinary team of over 1,000 volunteers. He is an Experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon, having held positions including Chief of Orthopaedics, Eastern Health 2015-2020, Associate Professor of Surgery (Orthopaedics), MUN 2006-2020 and Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma, University of Maryland/Johns Hopkins (2006-2007). Dr. Furey has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions including King’s Coronation Medal (2025) and Humanitarian of the Year, Canadian Red Cross NL (2017).

Chad Williams

Chad is the Chairman and Founder of Red Cloud Mining Capital Inc., a global mining investment bank providing extensive coverage to explorers, developers and junior producers. He has extensive experience in mining finance and management, having previously held senior executive positions, such as President and Chief Executive Officer of Victoria Gold Corp. from 2007 to 2011 and Head of Mining Investment Banking at Blackmont Capital Inc. from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Williams started his mining career at TD Newcrest as a highly ranked mining analyst. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Mining and an MBA (Finance/Accounting) from McGill University in Montreal.

Tamara Brown

Tamara is a mining industry professional with over 30 years of experience in the mining, capital markets and M&A sectors. She is currently a partner of Oberon Capital Corp., a leading charity flow-through provider, and was most recently the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Superior Gold Inc., a gold producer. Tamara is currently an independent director of Orla Mining Ltd. (TSX) and Lithium Royalty Corp. (TSX). Her previous executive roles include Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Development (Americas) for Newcrest Mining Ltd., a gold mining company; Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations for Primero Mining Corp., a gold and silver producer; and Director of Investor Relations for IAMGOLD Corp. Tamara began her career as a professional engineer in the mining industry and was formerly a partner of a boutique investment banking firm. Tamara holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Curtin University in Australia and has completed the Chartered Business Valuator Course at York University.

Allen Palmiere

Mr. Palmiere, a Chartered Accountant-Chartered Public Accountant by training, has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry both from a financial and operational perspective. His international experience includes South Africa, Central America, Guyana Brazil and China. Mr. Palmiere’s expertise includes operations, executive management and financing, both debt and equity. Additionally, Mr. Palmiere has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Palmiere’s former executive positions include CEO and Chairman of the Board, HudBay Minerals Inc., Executive Chairman, Barplats Investments Ltd., Vice President, CFO, Zemex Corporation, and President and CEO, Breakwater Resources Ltd. Mr. Palmiere has also served as a director of numerous public companies. Mr. Palmiere is currently the CEO, President and a Director of Gold Resource Corporation.

Keith Boyle

Keith was appointed Chief Executive Officer of New Found Gold in January 2025, bringing with him 40 years of experience in the mining industry, including the last 17 years as an operations executive within precious and base metals companies. His work has encompassed both open-pit and underground mines across North America and internationally, with assignments across Australia and Africa. Previously, Mr. Boyle served as Chief Operating Officer at Reunion Gold Corporation, where he fast-tracked the development of the high-grade gold Oko West Project in Guyana, leading to its acquisition by G Mining Ventures Corporation for $870 million. Throughout his career, Keith has demonstrated expertise in project development, technical studies, stakeholder relations, operational optimization, cost control, and budget management to drive and improve financial performance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and an MBA from the University of Alberta. Mr. Boyle is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador.

Melissa Render, P.Geo.
President
Melissa is an exploration geologist with over 18 years of experience focused on orogenic gold. Ms. Render began with New Found Gold as a Consultant in 2020, joined the Company as Vice President, Exploration in 2021 and subsequently appointed to the position of President in 2024. She has managed exploration projects worldwide from grassroots to advanced stages in greenstone belts including the Abitibi, Eastern Goldfields, Hope Bay, Central Lapland, and Banfora. She has held positions with Kinross Gold, AngloGold Ashanti, TMAC Resources, Kaminak, Waterton Global, Laurentian Goldfields, AusQuest, Chalice, McEwan, and Warrior Gold. Ms. Render has consulted on exploration projects where her specialization was focused on target generation, 3D modelling, data management and exploration program design. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Dalhousie University, and a P.Geo. designation within the provinces of Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hashim Ahmed, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Ahmed has a proven history of success with 25 years of experience in financial management, corporate strategy, organizational restructuring, and capital markets. Mr. Ahmed has held a number of finance and executive roles within the mining industry, with his most recent position being Executive Vice President & CFO at Mandalay Resources Corp. prior to its acquisition by Alkane Resources Ltd. Previously, he was CFO of Nova Royalty Corp. and Jaguar Mining Inc. and worked at Barrick Gold Corp. for seven years, where he held progressively senior positions in various finance functions in the Canadian office, as well as with site finance teams in South America. At the start of his professional career, Mr. Ahmed obtained his CA/CPA designation with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and later worked with Ernst & Young LLP in their advisory practice.

Robert Assabgui, P.Eng.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Assabgui is an accomplished senior operations executive and manager with expertise in project management and engineering within the mining industry, who joined New Found Gold as Study Manager in early 2025. He has worked in a variety of roles in engineering, operations, project delivery and executive management. Mr. Assabgui began his career at Inco Ltd. (subsequently Vale Canada Ltd.) and progressed to the role of Director of Mines, accountable for six mines, the concentrator and the mines technical services department. In 2017, he joined Hudbay Minerals Inc. as Vice President of Technical Services, and subsequently Vice President of the Manitoba Business Unit. Robert successfully positioned the business unit to transition the Snow Lake operations into a primary gold producer, with the refurbishment and start up of the New Britannia Gold Mill, and the closure of the Flin Flon Operations. More recently, he held the position of Study Manager for Reunion Gold Corporation at the Oko West Project up to its acquisition by G Mining Ventures Corp. in 2024. Mr. Assabgui holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from McGill University in Montreal

Fiona Childe, Ph.D., P.Geo
Vice President, Communications and Corporate Development
Fiona joined New Found Gold as Vice President, Communications and Corporate Development, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in the mining industry, starting as an exploration geologist and subsequently focusing on capital markets, corporate development and shareholders communications. Throughout her career she has consulted for and held senior management positions with Canadian-listed exploration, development and mining companies, with a primary focus on gold. Dr. Childe has worked on projects throughout Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Asia and Australia. She recently consulted to Mineros S.A. through its successful IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and previously served as Vice President, Corporate Communications at Tau Capital Corp. through the acquisition of AfriOre Limited by Lonmin plc. She holds a Ph.D. in Geology with the Mineral Deposit Research Unit at the University of British Colombia and a P.Geo. (Ontario) designation.

Jared Saunders, Ph.D., CRSP, EP
Vice President, Sustainability
Jared was appointed to the role of Vice President, Sustainability in 2025, after originally joining in the position of Director of Environment & Regulatory Affairs, where he oversees environmental permitting, compliance, baseline studies, and regulatory processes. He brings with him over two decades of experience in environmental sciences and chemistry. His distinguished career began in the Canadian Military, providing a strong foundation for his subsequent transition to the consulting sector. As a Senior Environmental Scientist with Stantec, a leading global sustainable engineering, architecture and environmental consulting firm, Dr. Saunders led projects in environmental risk assessment and contaminated site management. Over a decade ago, Jared returned to his Newfoundland and Labrador roots and joined Vale Newfoundland and Labrador, managing the environmental departments for Long Harbour and Voisey’s Bay. He is dedicated to implementing top environment, social and governance practices and building positive and transparent relationships with team members, local and Indigenous communities, regulators, and stakeholders. Dr. Saunders holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences degree from the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. He sits on the Board of Directors for Mining Industry, NL as Director – Exploration.

Jelena Novikov Fried
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Novikov Fried brings over 20 years of legal experience in corporate, commercial, governance, and securities compliance matters across a range of industries, including mining, natural resources, and oil and gas. Before joining New Found Gold as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, she was Legal Director, Corporate and Securities at Li-Cycle, where she played a key role in governance, financing, and compliance initiatives, and contributed to the successful sale of the company. Earlier in her career, she practised corporate and securities law with Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Bennett Jones LLP, and held an in-house legal role with the Canadian Bankers Association. Ms. Novikov Fried holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia.
